About Cremation

Direct Cremations

There are two types of cremation. The most expedient form is know as "Direct Cremation" where the crematorium picks up the deceased from the place of death and carries their body to the crematorium. After cremation, the ashes are returned to the next of kin or other proper persons.

The other type of cremation involves a funeral home and the activities and costs entailed. This process generally involves embalming, casket purchase or rental, viewing, etc. At the end of the ceremonies, the deceased is then taken to the crematory rather than the cemetery. The cost savings in this process are relatively small.
